The Type75 105mm Recoilless Anti-Tank Gun is one of the most popular anti-tank weapons in service with the PLA. The Type75 was developed in the mid-1970s and was soon equipped by the PLA in large numbers. Afive-man crew operates the Typer75. The 105mm recoilless gun is mounted on a 4x4 Beijing 212 cross-cuntry vehicle. The gun can be fired on the vehicle. Or dismounted and fired on ground. Ammunitions include high explosive and high explosive fragmentation. Later versioins of the round are also fin-stabillzed. The maximum range of fire is 580m, and the maximum armor-piercing depth is 1500mm at 60 degree. The power of the Type75 is more than enough to deal with modern main battle tanks, but it is still a highly mobile weapon capable of destroying light armored vehicles and soft targets. A large number of he Type75 are still serving with the PLA’s anti-tank and airborne units. In the future, the will gradually replaced by anti-tank missiles such as HJ-8 or 111.
