Description
Zvezda’s excellent HMS Dreadnought returns in Revell packaging and is unchanged from the initial release, with six styrene runners and a two-piece ‘seabed-type’ stand. The inclusion of transparent items with internally moulded windows for the bridge plus separate searchlight glazing is a clever touch, although both will require careful masking during painting. It can be built in either waterline or full-hull configuration, and there is a pre-scored line on the inner hull sides to facilitate the former – three cross-members mean the model will have a robust structure, nonetheless. While fine items such as railings aren’t included, there are torpedo net booms for the hull sides, plus anchor chains and individual fairleads, raising the overall refinement of the finished model considerably. The single paint scheme depicts the vessel in standard Admiralty camouflage of vertical surfaces in light grey, with a red-toned lower hull.
