Description
1/48 Gnome-Rhône 14M engine - 2 pcs., 3D printed detailed set designed to be built into plastic kits. Art Scale Kit Distribution, cat. no. 200-A48021
The Gnome-Rhône 14M was a pre-war French air-cooled twin-star 14-cylinder aircraft engine that powered many types of French (and a few German) aircraft during WWII. A minor technical interesting feature of this engine concept is that it was one of the few short-stroke aircraft engines at the time (i.e., the cylinder bore value was greater than the stroke - the L/D ratio was 0.95).
This engine was produced by Walter a.s., a factory for automobiles and aircraft engines in Prague, Jinonice, Czechoslovakia under the name Walter 14M Mars between 1937 and 1940.
