Description
The third item in the new 1/6 scale model kit range is a Ku"belwagen, the diminutive but practical German car that operated in every theater of combat. This utility vehicle is a famous icon of WWII and modelers will have no trouble in conjuring up paint schemes and scenarios for it. Going into mass production in February 1940, the four-door Ku"belwagen Type 82 was 300kg lighter than the American Jeep (despite being more than a foot longer). When Volkswagen ceased production at the close of WWII, a total of more than 50,000 had been built for the German armed forces.
No detail has been spared on this amazing Ku"belwagen, with many moving parts incorporated into the design. Each of the four doors can open, and when closed they can even be locked. Furthermore, the Ku"belwagen incorporates a working steering mechanism! This is not a toy, however, for the vehicle is fully and lovingly detailed inside and out. The interior features such elements as floor slats and a detailed dashboard. Modelers are often blown away by the amount of detail that Dragon can incorporate in a 1/35 scale model, but what can be done in 1/6 scale has to be seen to be believed!
