Description
First appearing in August 1944 as a result of a special Air Ministry requirement, the FW190D9 was an attempt to produce a high-altitude fighter based heavily on an existing fighter, the FW190A8. The red undersurfaces with white striped were designed to alert the flak gunners around the fields to a friendly aircraft.
