Description
USS Gerald R. Ford CVN-78 is an aircraft carrier for the United States Navy and the lead ship of her class of a planned five carriers including Gerald R. Ford CVN-78, John F. Kennedy CVN-79, Enterprise CVN-80, Doris Miller CVN-81, and CVN-82. The ship is named after the 38th President of the United States, Gerald Ford, whose WWII naval service included combat duty aboard the light aircraft carrier USS Monterey CVL-26 in the Pacific Theater.
