Description
The M1 tank, a representative tank of the modern U.S. Army, entered service in 1981. In 1985, the M1A1 was deployed, featuring reinforced armor and a 120mm smoothbore gun for increased firepower. The M1A2, an improved version of the A1, began production and modifications in the late 1990s. It boasts enhanced defensive capabilities and updated electronics such as GPS, communication networks, and operational command data links. It also features an independent thermal imaging system for the tank commander, improving night combat capabilities.
