Description

      Kasumi was commissioned in June 1939 as the ninth ship of the Asashio-class destroyers. During the Battle of Cape Bōsō in April 1945 as part of Operation Ten-Go, she was severely damaged and rendered unable to sail by attacks from aircraft of the US Navy task force. After the survivors were rescued by Fuyutsuki, she was scuttled by torpedoes from Fuyutsuki.
