Named after the Prussian General August von Gneisenau, the vessel became known for its firepower and technical sophistication and operated alongside its sister ship Scharnhorst during numerous naval operations. The model consists of 48 parts and features a detailed deck and realistic components designed to capture the appearance of the original battleship. The 2024 reissue recreates the original design while incorporating a revised fit and numerous updated details for a realistic building experience. Authentic decals help enhance the finished model and add historical accuracy to the completed display piece.
