Description
The Blue Angels are the United States Navy's aerobatic team. After 13 seasons using the A-4F Skyhawk, which they operated from 1974 , the baton was passed to the state-of-the-art F/A-18A Hornet carrier-based fighter/attack aircraft in the 1987 season, and the new Blue Angels began operations. A container for the smoke system has been installed in the space previously occupied by the removed cannon on top of the nose, and a smoke pipe has been fitted above the left engine exhaust. All Blue Angels aircraft are early production models designed specifically for land operations.
